YOUTUBE & VIDEO MARKETING TRAINING
Free, self-guided training • Plan useful videos, create a recognizable channel, improve titles and thumbnails, and learn from audience feedback. You can start with a phone and free editing tools. This course does not create or connect a YouTube account or upload videos automatically.
LESSON 1 • CHOOSE YOUR CHANNEL TOPIC
Choose a subject you understand or are committed to learning and an audience you want to help or entertain. Focus on a few repeatable content themes.
Assignment: Write your channel purpose and list three themes you could make ten videos about.
LESSON 2 • BUILD YOUR CHANNEL IDENTITY
Plan a memorable channel name, clear description, readable profile image, and banner. Make your topic and value obvious to first-time visitors. Research names and rights before using existing brand elements.
Assignment: Draft a two-sentence channel description and sketch your banner headline.
LESSON 3 • RESEARCH VIDEO IDEAS
Listen to audience questions, review topics people search for, and identify gaps where you can offer a helpful perspective. Avoid copying another creator's scripts or footage.
Assignment: List ten video ideas and choose three based on usefulness and feasibility.
LESSON 4 • WRITE A STRONG VIDEO SCRIPT
Start with a clear hook, quickly explain what viewers will learn, deliver the main content, and close with a relevant next step. Use natural language rather than exaggerated promises.
Assignment: Draft a 60-second script with a hook, three talking points, and a closing line.
LESSON 5 • RECORD AND EDIT WITH SIMPLE TOOLS
Record in a quiet space with steady framing and good lighting. Trim pauses, adjust audio, and add readable captions. Use your own footage or media you are licensed to use; review music and image rights before publishing.
Assignment: Create a short practice clip and check it on a phone before sharing.
LESSON 6 • MAKE HONEST TITLES AND THUMBNAILS
Use a title that clearly describes the video and a thumbnail with one strong visual idea. Make text readable at small sizes. Avoid misleading claims, impersonation, or images that promise something the video does not deliver.
Assignment: Write three accurate titles and sketch two thumbnail concepts for one video.
LESSON 7 • PUBLISH AND ORGANIZE YOUR CHANNEL
Prepare a clear description, relevant chapters when useful, accurate captions, and playlists for related topics. Review platform rules, copyright, and disclosure requirements, including for sponsorships or altered/synthetic content where applicable.
Assignment: Create a publishing checklist and a description template for your videos.
LESSON 8 • LEARN FROM YOUR ANALYTICS
Review audience retention, watch time, traffic sources, comments, and returning viewers where available. Metrics vary by format and audience. Focus on whether viewers receive the value promised, not just raw views.
Assignment: Design a weekly review with one successful topic, one improvement, and one next video idea.
FINAL PROJECT • YOUR FIRST THREE VIDEOS
Prepare a channel description, three video ideas, one 60-second script, a title and thumbnail plan, and a publishing checklist. Save your drafts and publish only when ready.
Channel growth and monetization are not guaranteed and depend on audience response and platform eligibility rules.
