WRITE YOUR OWN MARKETING EMAILS
Free, self-guided training • Learn to write useful, trustworthy emails for your own business. You write and manage your messages; LaunchFlow Academy will not send marketing emails on your behalf.
LESSON 1 • KNOW YOUR READER
Decide who you're writing to and why the email would help them. Write down one problem they face and one useful idea you can share.
Your task: Finish this sentence: “My reader wants help with ___, so this email will show them ___.”
LESSON 2 • BUILD A PERMISSION-BASED LIST
Invite people to subscribe using a clear signup form that explains what they'll receive. Keep a record of consent, honor unsubscribes, and never buy or scrape email addresses.
Your task: Draft a two-sentence signup invitation explaining the value and expected frequency.
LESSON 3 • WRITE A SUBJECT LINE
Keep subject lines clear, specific, and truthful. Avoid false urgency or exaggerated promises.
Your task: Write three subject lines for one helpful tip and choose the clearest one.
LESSON 4 • WRITE YOUR FIRST EMAIL
Use this simple structure: friendly greeting → reason for writing → one useful tip or story → one clear next step → sign-off.
Practice draft: “Hi [first name], I wanted to share one idea that may help with [challenge]. Here's what worked for me: [tip]. If you'd like to learn more, [next step]. Thanks, [your name].”
Your task: Rewrite this in your own voice. Keep it short and useful.
LESSON 5 • FOLLOW UP WITH RESPECT
A follow-up should add value, not pressure. Share a helpful example, answer a common question, or offer a relevant resource. Respect recipients who do not respond or unsubscribe.
Your task: Draft a helpful follow-up for someone who requested more information.
LESSON 6 • CHECK BEFORE YOU SEND
Check spelling, mobile readability, links, the sender identity, and any claims. For commercial emails, follow applicable anti-spam rules, including truthful headers and subject lines, a valid physical postal address, and a working opt-out method. Laws vary by location.
Your task: Review your draft and make a checklist of anything you need to fix before sending.
YOUR FINAL ASSIGNMENT
Create three original emails for your business: 1. A welcome email for people who opted in. 2. A helpful teaching email. 3. A respectful follow-up email.
Save your drafts in your own document. No email sending, subscription, or automatic grading happens on this page.
