WEBSITE & SALES FUNNEL TRAINING

Free, self-guided course • Learn how to plan a simple business website, create a focused landing page, and guide visitors toward a useful next step. You can complete the exercises with paper and a document before choosing a website builder. No paid software is required to follow the lessons.

LESSON 1 • WEBSITE VS. SALES FUNNEL

A website helps people explore your business, services, and resources. A sales funnel is a focused sequence of steps that helps someone decide whether an offer is right for them. A simple funnel may include a landing page, a signup or contact form, and a thank-you page.

Assignment: Describe your business and one action you want a visitor to take.

LESSON 2 • PLAN YOUR CUSTOMER JOURNEY

Think about what a new visitor needs to know before taking action: Who is this for? What problem does it help solve? What happens next? Keep each step clear and optional.

Assignment: Draw a three-step journey: visitor → useful page → next action.

LESSON 3 • BUILD YOUR WEBSITE STRUCTURE

Start with a clear Home page, About page, helpful Resources or Services page, and Contact page. Use simple navigation and readable headings. Make sure your site works on a phone.

Assignment: Sketch your homepage with a headline, short introduction, three benefits, and one clear button.

LESSON 4 • WRITE A LANDING PAGE

A focused landing page usually needs a specific headline, short explanation, real benefits, a relevant image if useful, and one clear call to action. Avoid exaggerated earnings claims, fake scarcity, or testimonials you cannot substantiate.

Assignment: Draft a headline, three truthful benefits, and a button label for your page.

LESSON 5 • CREATE A USEFUL LEAD MAGNET

Offer something genuinely useful such as a checklist, beginner guide, worksheet, or short tutorial. Explain exactly what a visitor receives. If collecting email addresses, explain how you'll use them and request appropriate permission.

Assignment: Outline a one-page checklist your ideal customer would appreciate.

LESSON 6 • PLAN FORMS AND THANK-YOU PAGES

Ask only for information you need. Explain what happens after a form is submitted. A thank-you page should confirm the action and provide a clear next step. Test forms with your own details before sharing them publicly.

Assignment: Write the message a visitor should see after submitting a form.

LESSON 7 • DESIGN FOR TRUST AND ACCESSIBILITY

Use readable text, strong color contrast, descriptive buttons, alt text for useful images, and a responsive mobile layout. Make business contact details and relevant privacy information easy to find.

Assignment: Review your draft for clarity, mobile readability, and honest claims.

LESSON 8 • TEST AND IMPROVE YOUR FUNNEL

Check every link, button, form, and thank-you step. Track useful outcomes such as completed signups or inquiries, rather than only page views. Change one element at a time and compare results.

Assignment: Create a launch checklist with at least five tests you will run before sharing your page.

FINAL PROJECT • YOUR FIRST FUNNEL BLUEPRINT

Create a simple blueprint containing one audience, one offer or useful resource, a landing page outline, a signup/contact step, and a thank-you message. Save it in your own document and build when ready.

This training does not automatically create a website, capture leads, or promise sales results.
